Historic Formula Ford Class 3 - the George Begg trophy
Please see below an image of the new "GEORGE BEGG Trophy" that SIFF instigated for MotorSport New Zealand for the new Historic Formula Ford Class 3. It was presented at the awards dinner in Dunedin at the 2013 MSNZ awards to the first recipient - Royce Bayer.
The trophy was designed to incorporate some of the elements of early Formula Fords (as George was constructing at the time) including a simple space frame chassis, aluminium panelling etc. & with a couple of FF profiles to the top. We are sure he would approve. This as far as the SIFF club is aware the first trophy to recognise George & his achievements.
SIFF had the trophy expertly fabricated by Bruce Gibbs.
